March Madness impact in the workplace by Angela Rozier

The March Madness fever is spreading at The One Cowork in Boca Raton.

The One Cowork is an open workspace facility where people can have a private office in a place that's not their average work cubicle.

Max Ramirez is the general manager.

“We’re not a typical commercial workspace where it’s just white walls, contemporary furniture and just, honestly, sterile," Ramirez said. "We’re a place where we like to inspire.”

Ramirez is a huge basketball fan. If people there want to spend some of their work time filling out a March Madness bracket, they are welcome.

Boca Raton residents aren’t really working with their co-workers, per se. The city was ranked as the suburb with the sixth-highest number of co-working spaces in the nation, according to a study published by CoworkingCafe.

“A shift to remote work, many people are just lonely. Many are opting for a work environment where they know they’ll see other faces, even if they aren’t their actual colleagues.”
